When you applied for electric service you were asked to pay a membership fee. This fee allows you to become a member of GEC, a non-profit, member-owned cooperative, dedicated to efficient management that allows us to provide you with reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost.  Along with being a member you have certain rights and responsibilities. You have a right to talk with GEC management about any problem concerning GEC. You have a right to attend the Annual Meeting and vote for directors. You will receive an annual report in the “Texas Coop Power” a state-wide monthly magazine. You have the responsibility to report hazardous situations or vandalism to GEC property. You have the responsibility to keep your account current, and help maintain the financial strength of your cooperative. We in turn have a commitment to you to fulfill our obligation to supply power at the lowest possible cost and to maintain the highest quality of service.
